I'm not sure if it was the best one ever, but it was a pretty good movie. There were still *way* too many moments of terrible (and completely unecessary) dialogue and bad acting. But on the whole, it was very satisfying. Nice to see the saga go out on a higher note than the clunkers that were episodes I and II.
And damn, Qom; with a four-hour lead from the East Coast time zone, I figured I'd be the first to post on the movie, but you've beaten me to it.
Having refreshed my memory by watching Attack of the Clones the previous Sunday, I was happy that Annakin's acting had stepped up one rung on the ladder (he still has many rungs to climb). I do give kudos to Ewan McGregor for his Obi-Wan. This is not an 'acting' movie though, rather an 'action' one. Definitely weak at a few points where Annakin has to talk. I'm sure if you had your own light saber you could poke a few holes in it, or maybe find some way to say it was just another no arms no legs joke... Nevertheless, the Ewoks ruined episode 6, and as you say 1 and 2 were sort of clunkers. It's hard to top the first one in my imagination,... but this one definitely took me someplace else, and still brings it back full circle.
